In May 2022 the Società Agricola da Porto participated in the P.N.R.R. tender. "M1C3 – INVESTMENT 2.2 - PROTECTION AND ENHANCEMENT OF ARCHITECTURE AND RURAL LANDSCAPE" resulting in it being admitted.
The intervention proposed in the project was the restoration and renovation of a portion of a rural building forming part of the architectural complex of Villa Selvatico da Porto, a listed property with recognition of historical and cultural interest pursuant to Legislative Decree no. 42/2004 .
This portion, located in the "barchessa" of the villa, was formerly used as a stable and later as an agricultural warehouse. The project envisaged its restoration for the purpose of creating a space that could be used as a multifunctional hall to be used for touristic and cultural activities and for the valorisation of the rural architectural and landscape heritage.
The restoration works began at the end of June 2023 and ended in June 2024, and were characterized by structural interventions of a certain importance as both the wall structures and the ceiling of the stable were significantly degraded, both by time and by use.
Concerning the restoration, the best techniques were used for the consolidation of the building, also for anti-seismic purposes, and the most modern and efficient air conditioning systems were installed for the new use of this space.
Every intervention carried out was inspired by both the principles of protection of cultural heritage and those of sustainability and energy saving.
