On Saturday 31 May, our multipurpose hall hosted the presentation of "The first book of geography", the most recent work by Prof. Mauro Varotto, Professor of Geography and Cultural Geography at the University of Padua and curator of the first University Museum of Geography in Italy. With this work, Varotto highlights the complexity, evolution and omnipresence in our lives of a subject that has almost disappeared from school and towards which an unjustified indifference prevails in society. In reality, geography is everywhere: in the foods we eat, in the landscapes of everyday life, in the geolocalization of our every movement, in climate change, in migrant routes and so on. A fascinating discipline, with broad horizons, capable of training us to think complexly about the world.
A large audience participated with interest in the presentation, organized by the Associazione l'Angolo del Pensiero and gladly hosted by us.
