"Stories Under the Surface": Gender Inequality Through Corporate Theatre Performances

A reflection on gender inequality in the workplace, carried out through a training-performance activity, conceived and led by actress and trainer Giulia Cailotto, was held last Thursday, December 4th at Villa Selvatico.

The focus was on the stereotypes, prejudices, and daily microaggressions women experience in the workplace. This was followed by the topics of work-life balance, work-life balance, and the gender pay gap. All of this was discussed thanks to the inspiration and provocation of a reading staged by Cailotto, and with the participation of a large group of women: entrepreneurs, professionals, and representatives of trade associations. It was an opportunity for all of them to share their experiences, both positive and negative, and to highlight the discriminatory behaviors women often experience without reacting, or the self-sabotage they sometimes inflict on themselves due to entrenched stereotypes and prejudices in society.

This engaging opportunity for discussion was initiated by the Women's Entrepreneurship Committee of the Padua Chamber of Commerce, and organized thanks to the work of the Chamber's New Business Service.
